Shiny chrome-plated brass fittings and an intricately guilloche cap adorn this handmade pen. <br>This pen features natural, oceanic origin, grade AAA oceanic white mother of pearl on a round, smooth barrel. Long panels of this precious material are carefully measured, cut, placed, and polished by hand to create a perfectly smooth and seamless round surface. This intensive polishing process shows off the nacre's deep vibrancy and iridescence naturally, with no clear coat or other finish applied. A shimmering array of various colors and hues can be seen shifting on this pen’s body in the light. <br>While some makers produce pens with small pieces of mother of pearl, we at Xezo believe that the difficulty and cost it takes to use oceanic mother of pearl of this size and quality creates a stunning effect that is well worth all the work it involves. <br>We use mother of pearl with a hardness of 4.5 on the Mohs scale (as hard as steel).
