Storage and Disposal:

• Do not freeze
• Keep container closed when not in use
• Do not ransfer contents to other containers for storage or disposal
• In case of spillage, absorb with inert material such as sand or kitty litter
• Dispose of contaminated absorbent, container and/or unused contents in accordance with local, state and federal regulations
• DANGER: Rags, steel wool or waste soaked with this product may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after each use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed, water-filled metal container

Surface Preparation: Clean surface thoroughly. Remove dirt and grease with all-purpose cleaner. Wash dirt from protected areas, such as under eaves. Remove loose or peeling paint and rust with a wire brush and scraper. Dull glossy areas with gloss remover, sandpaper or steel wool. Caulk cracks and crevices around windows, doors and trim. Unpainted wood or badly weathered surfaces should be primed with a first coat of Valspar Latex Barn & Fence Paint thinned with one pint of water per gallon of paint. For metal roofs, tin or iron surfaces, gutters and downspouts, be sure surface is clean. Remove all loose paint, rust and scale before painting. Prime with metal primer. Do not paint in hot sunlight. Clean mildew from the surface: Where high temperature and humidity are common, mildew can be a problem. Mildew is a fungus growth that looks like dirt, but detergent will not wash it off. If you see mildew, or if you do not see any but know it is a problem in your area, scrub surface before painting with a commercial mildew remover or 1 part liquid chlorine bleach to 3 parts water. Avoid skin or eye contact when working with bleach solution. Rinse thoroughly.
Application and Clean-up: Paint only when surface and air temperatures are above 50 °F (10 °C). Stir paint thoroughly before and while painting. Do not paint in damp weather. Start painting at the highest point and work from left to right. Paint the gutters and downspouts, then the windows and frames. To prevent sticking, move windows up and down after 20 minutes. Next, do the siding. Brush paint well into surface. Always finish up at a door, window or outer edge. Do not stop painting in the middle of an open space. Thin sparingly, if necessary, with water. Clean brushes, rollers, equipment and hands with warm soap and water.
