Who has not dreamed of traveling back in time to see how people lived in ancient times?Basilio Coccheri, originally from Italy, moves to live in Crete (Greece), leaving his old life behind. Here he begins a new life, working as a tour guide, showing the beauty of the island and introducing guests to its rich history. One day Basilio buys an old, abandoned house in a small village. While restoring it, he discovers an underground tunnel, washed by an underground stream of water, which leads him towards the ruins of an ancient palace. Suddenly, Basilio's path is blocked by a wall, but his curiosity leads him to remove several stones from the wall and crawl through a narrow opening. He finds himself in the distant past, where he is welcomed as a messenger of the gods. Atarik, a priest and translator, meets Basilio and accompanies him to Knossos, the palace of the local ruler Inukar.During the audience, Inukar tells Basilio that strange Hatt merchants have appeared in the east of the island, searching for something, and asks Basilio to accompany an officer from the palace guard and Atarik to investigate. Basilio must uncover the true purpose of the Hatt merchants' visit. On their journey to Zakros, Basilio visits several settlements, gaining insights into the lives of ancient Cretans. Arriving in Zakros, he unravels the mystery of the Hutts, who turned out to be non-Hutts, and finds a very important artifact. Together with Atarik, he delivers this artifact to the palace of Inukar. After completing his mission, he returns home to his own time through the same tunnel, taking a small thing from the past as a keepsake.
