Nationally recognized home economics author, Florence LaGanke wrote many cookbooks including this simple, 60 page compendium of her 100 favorite recipes. Here's what the author had to say about her selections...

"You may think my favorite foods are plain Janes; I like to think they are as sophisticatedly smart as Jane's French cousin, Janine.... Flavor can be as simple as that of butter melting over a just-out-of-the-oven baked potato seasoned with freshly ground salt and pepper... I object to foods which look beribboned and beflounced. I keep thinking of all the human breathing that has been done over that food while it was being decorated."

ABOUT THE AUTHOR (Courtesy of the Encyclopedia of Cleveland History)

Using her maiden name, LaGanke wrote over a dozen books and numerous articles.
